How to Bid

Bidders are reminded to carefully read and follow the instructions for submitting a bid, as bids that are submitted incorrectly will not be considered. The Board is not obliged to accept any bid nor is the Board required to issue an interest as the result of this Call for Bids.

Section 2.3 of Call for Bids NS18-3 describes the submission of bids. Bids may be submitted for Exploration Licences in either a Standard or Alternative format. Bids for Exploration Licences with Alternative Terms and Conditions will only be considered if no successful bid for an Exploration Licence with Standard Terms and Conditions are received for a particular parcel. Standard Terms and Conditions require the successful bidder post a Work Deposit in the amount of twenty-five percent (25%) of its Work Expenditure Bid, within thirty (30) days of receiving notice that its bid was successful, as a condition of issuance of the Exploration Licence.

Alternative Terms and Conditions require the successful bidder post a refundable Licence Deposit in the amount of $50,000 or one percent (1%) of Work Expenditure Bid, whichever is greater. The Licence Deposit under Alternative Terms and Conditions must be posted within thirty (30) days of receiving notice that its bid was successful, as a condition of issuance of the Exploration Licence. Under Alternative Terms and Conditions, the Interest Owner will be required to post a Work Deposit in the amount of twenty-five percent (25%) of the Work Expenditure Bid as security for the performance of work no later than the third anniversary of the Exploration Licence (July 12, 2022). Failure to post the Work Deposit by July 12, 2022 will result in the expiration of the Exploration Licence and forfeiture of the Licence Deposit.

Bids, completed in the proper format described in subsections 2.3.1 – Standard Terms and Conditions Format and 2.3.2 - Alternative Terms and Conditions Format, must be received by the Board before 4:00 p.m. Atlantic Time, May 8, 2019 at the following address:
